Faraien Bahri is the founder of Tutors At Reach. He created this non-profit to help provide free tutoring for those who could not afford it due to financial hardships. He strongly believes that everyone should have a fair shot at succeeding in school and that the lack of money should never hinder that goal.
Professionally, Faraien worked for several years in the hospitality industry. His career began as a restaurant manager while simultaneously paying for university. After several years in the industry, he took on the role of Project Manager of Corporate Operations and Logistics at SBE Entertainment Group, one of the fastest growing hospitality companies in the US. His role involved corporate operations, company wide purchasing, and special project initiatives. Currently, Faraien is a Senior Financial Analyst at Move Inc. (NASDAQ: MOVE), primarily focused on corporate finance. In addition, Faraien also has experince working at Kaiser Permanente and also holds two cancer research publications in the FASEB journal. With a diverse background, his goal is to make a positive impact on his community at large, in any way feasible.
Faraien obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a joint concentration in Real Estate Finance/Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. He also has a Biological Sciences Post Baccalaureate degree level education with above a 3.95 science and math gpa. He believes anyone can reach success with the right approach and he intends on spreading that mindset to every student he interacts with.
Arash Babadjouni has played a pivitol role in the launch of Tutors At Reach. His dedication to the cause has helped shape the direction of Tutors At Reach.
Arash is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California. He is pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences.
Assal Babadjouni, Vice President of USC Branch and Community
Outreach
Assal graduated from the University
of Southern California with her Bachelors of Science degree in
Public Policy and Real Estate Development in 2015. Further, she is
currently completing a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Speech-Language
Pathology from Chapman University in Orange, California. Assal
hopes to attend Graduate school to obtain her Master of Science
Degree (MS, CCC-SLP) the following
year.
While at USC, Assal spent time
volunteering at Peace Over Violence and interning at Private Real
Estate Investment Firms, as well as Law Firms. Assal has played a
pivotal role in the development and launch of Doctors At Reach and
Tutors at Reach. Her dedication to the cause has helped shape the
direction of Doctors At Reach with a goal of community outreach in
order to positively influence young adults about the prominence of
a wholesome lifestyle.
Faraz Amirani, CFO & Board Member
Faraz Amirani serves as the CFO and is on the Board of Directors. He is also an active tutor who deeply enjoys giving advice and direction to the students he tutors. He believes education is the key to success and believes that anything that can be done to improve student’s resources should be utilized. He has the confidence that Tutors at Reach is a practical solution to a major problem and will do his best to help grow the cause.
Faraz holds a J.D. from Southwestern Law School, graduating in the top 10% of his class and is a current member of the California State Bar. Faraz obtained his B.A in Political Science, with a concentration in International Relations, from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated cum laude.
Venus Vahdati is an active member of Tutors at Reach. As a tutor, she specializes in Math and Chemistry, as well as logistics assistance. She has always been passionate about helping people to reach their full potential and actively strides to make it happen.
Venus is currently working in an independent pharmacy gaining
more exposure to the field of medicine. Being able to perform her
job successfully and putting smile on people's faces when she
served them adequately, has convinced her that she really has
passion for this profession. Venus also worked as a tutor to
help disadvantaged and disabled students at Pierce College. She
also joined a directed research team at the Center for Cancer and
Developmental Biology at CSUN to identify reagents that un-clump
cells in a model yeast system for use in clinical
applications.
Venus is an undergraduate student at the California State
University, Northridge where she will obtain a bachelor's
degree in the Biological Science.
Roderick Tatanian is an active member of Tutors At Reach and specializes in helping students with Mathematics, Comprehensive Studies, and Writing. In addition, he is also an active volunteer for the Marshall Connections Program at the University of Southern California. Through his volunteering experiences and knowledge, Roderick is determined to help students strive and reach their potential.
Roderick is currently attending the University of Southern California to receive his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has experience in marketing, accounting, finance, leadership training, and entrepreneurship which he is using to contribute to Tutors At Reach.
Niki Azimzadeh is an active member of Tutors At Reach. Here, at Tutors At Reach, she has taken the role of a leading tutor, focusing on her expertise in English, Literature, and Humanities. She lives in the heart of downtown Los Angeles and wants to help her community thrive. She believes all members of the community should play their part in helping each other advance.
Professionally, Niki has worked in multiple health care venues as an office manager including Advanced Chiropractic Solutions and Trihealth Medical Institute. As a health care office manager, she has extensive experience working with physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors as well as patients from all over Los Angeles. She is familiar with complex billing and insurance policies in the healthcare industry and has worked with countless personal injury attorneys on helping patients. She will continue to build on this foundation as an attorney.
Niki received her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Communication Studies. During her time as an undergraduate student she was part of the Communication Association as well as the Sociology Club.
Currently Niki is a JD candidate at Southwestern Law School. At Southwestern she is serving as a Law Commenter for the Southwestern Law School Newspaper. At Southwestern, she is a member of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association as well as the Women’s Law Association. She is also IRS-certffied for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, or VITA.
Nazanin Sheikhan is an active member of Tutors At Reach. As a tutor, she specializes in Math and Science. Nazanin tutors with the goal of empowering her students and strengthening the community. As a tutor, she values the opportunity to interact with and learn from students representing a diverse array of cultures, religions, and backgrounds.
Professionally, Nazanin is a certified Behavior Analyst and has previous experience working with students with special needs such as mental and physical disabilities. Furthermore, she was a member of the UCLA Care Extender Internship Program for three years. During her time as a Care Extender, she also served on the Recruitment Committee; her experience assessing and interacting with these candidates gave her tolerance, open-mindedness, and the ubiquitous relatability that will help her in patient relations. Her work as a counselor and cabin leader at the Muscular Dystrophy Association camp further amplified her patient relation skills and embellished her innate inclination to care for every member of humanity on a personal and meticulous level.
During her time as an undergraduate student, Nazanin was a Research Assistant at the Computation of Language Laboratory at UCI where she conducted research on word segmentation and acquisition of Syntax. Furthermore, she was involved in Alzheimer’s research and investigated the role of calcium in the initiation and progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
Nazanin obtained her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Irvine with a degree in Psychology. She graduated in the top 5% of her graduating class and was awarded Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors.
Grace Shirvani is an active member of Tutors At Reach. Here, at Tutors At Reach, Grace helps to empower the students she works closely with. She strongly believes that the children can be helped with the proper motivation and direction.
Professionally, Grace has worked in multiple accounting firms. As a tax intern, she was an apprentice to several well-known tax attorneys and accountants. She is also familiar with the tax industry and hopes to further her career in the field of tax law.
Grace obtained her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Professional Accountancy. During her time as an undergraduate student, she worked as a tax intern for Gumbiner Savvet Inc., and was a participant of the VITA Program, which she continues to be a part of at Southwestern Law School. During this time, Grace also received the California State PTA Honorary Service Award for her outstanding service to children and youth of the community. In addition, she received a Voluntary Service Award for her contribution as a volunteer to the USC Verdugo Hospital.
Currently, Grace is a JD candidate at Southwestern Law School. At Southwestern, she is a part of the Law Commenter for the Southwestern Law School Newspaper. She is a member of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association as well as the Women’s Law Association.
Shahryar Babadjouni is the President of the Tutors At Reach USC Chapter. He is helping create the foundation for Tutors At Reach because of his passion for promoting quality education for underachieved students. His goal is to provide quality and innovative tutoring to students who are not performing to their fullest potential or who cannot afford hiring a tutor. He believes each student deserves quality education and an opportunity to perform at his/her fullest potential. Through Tutors At Reach, his goal is to create opportunities for students to gain the necessary fundamentals to succeed in education and all their future endeavors.
Professionally, Shahryar has recently interned for US Senator Mark Udall in Washington, D.C. Working in the Capitol, he assisted by analyzing market data, analyzing legislation, and opportunity for policy under Senator Udall’s small business and economy cabinet. Shahryar has also obtained his Real Estate Salesperson license at 18, and since then, has been actively pursing private investments in real estate.
In May 2014, Shahryar will obtain his Bachelor of Science in Policy and Law from the University of Southern California. Additionally, in studying controversial encounters through various integrated interdisciplinary topics, he will graduate as a fellow of the Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study.
